Electric scooters are quickly becoming popular here in Australia thanks to the many benefits they offer commuters. Scooters can help you not only get from A to B easily, but they come with the added benefit of saving on fuel costs and reducing the impact on the environment by minimising harmful exhaust pollution.
One of the most recent models that is set to enter the market, is the new Aussie electric scooter dubbed the “Raine One” Scooter.
In this article, we are going to review the Raine One Scooter which is set to launch next week via Kickstarter.
The Raine One Electric Scooter ReviewThe Raine One Scooter is unlike any other scooter you have seen before. This scooter is designed to be the most exhilarating, smoothest and safest scooter in the world, and we can't wait to test it out!
It was designed with style in mind to suit the everyday lifestyle, meaning it can be used for weekend joyrides and the daily commute to work!
To help guarantee your safety, this scooter has traction control and electronic ABS, quality tyres, intelligent lighting, and suspension for a smooth ride, which no other scooters have on the market..
The Team Behind Raine ScootersThe Raine One Scooter was founded in the city of Melbourne by three passionate and innovative entrepreneurs.
First is James Murphy who is the co-founder and design engineer of Raine. James wanted to create a scooter that is a stylish, fun and an innovative way to navigate around the city. As the founder and designer of the BajaBoard (the world’s first off-road skateboard), James has brought a wealth of experience, passion, design and focus to Raine.
Next up in the Raine Scooters lineup is none other than Marc Alexander – the CEO and co-founder of the company. He is a highly driven technology and business leader in smart embedded and consumer products having founded smart lighting company, LIFX. Marc brings his leadership skills and global experience to Raine.
And finally, we have Mish Mannering (Twitter) who is the co-founder and Head of Partnerships and Events at Raine. Michelle brings her rich background in communications and science, including her passion for innovation, as well as her invaluable experience in collaboration and community fostering.
The Kickstarter campaign and launch date (Hint: 11 November 2019!)Although Raine has successfully raised venture capital funding for the Raine One, the founders want to use a Kickstarter campaign to bring the best electric scooter to as many people in the world. Manufacturing and designing any product can be a super expensive process. It can cost you thousands (if not millions) on product research and development, and then additional costs need to be attributed to marketing. But with Kickstarter, you have the added benefit of involving customers in the development of the final design by incorporating their feedback, whilst also gaining some great awareness for your new product.
Raine is a little different to most Kickstarter participants though. With the founders being no strangers to launching successful products through the crowdfunding platform, the team have already built a supply chain that is ready to deliver top-notch quality scooters right away. They’ve even the visited factories and workshops where the parts are being made to ensure the highest manufacturing standard is upheld.
The launch date for the Kickstarter campaign is November 1, 2019 and you can learn more about it here: https://raine.co/pages/kickstarter

Benefits of Buying an Electric Scooter... like the Raine One Scooter
It helps you save moneyPurchasing an Electric Scooter is cheaper than buying a car or motorbike. As electric scooters are battery-powered, you won’t require to purchase fuel. Therefore, you will spend less per kilometer to ride an Electric Scooter compared to vehicles that rely on fuel alone.
It saves timeIf you are traveling by car, it is easy to be caught up in traffic when on your daily commute. However, when you use a convenient means of transport like the Raine One, your commute time is drastically reduced. Additionally, its compact size means that riders will not waste time trying to find a parking space. Instead, electric scooters can be parked in spaces where motorbikes and cars cannot fit.
Protect the environmentThe new Raine One Scooter is not only cost-friendly but also environmentally friendly. This electric scooter plays an important role in reducing carbon emissions in the environment. It relies on batteries, which means that there is no burning of fuels or fumes being released from the engine. With this scooter, you will protect the environment as it decreases pollution and improves air quality.
Lower noiseNoise pollution is a common problem in major cities across Australia. Reports suggest that street noise can reduce productivity between 30 to 40 percent of people working in that environment. Noise pollution may also lead to elevated levels of anxiety, stress, and aggression. New Aussie electric scooters are less noisy, and thus reduce the above health problems.
Storage space and maintenance costThis electric scooter has enough storage space beneath the seat which allows you to carry packages, backpacks or carry bags in comfort. With the Raine One Scooter, there’s no need for filter or oil changes, and with the high-grip tyres designed to minimise the risk of punctures, maintenance costs will be almost non-existent.
Final Thoughts on the Raine OneWe can’t wait to get our hands on Raine Scooters first model – the “Raine One”. Plans are underway for the model to be available in stores in 2020.
